Aleta Moriarty 

CEO

Aleta comes from her role as Ethics and Sustainability Manager at Cotton On Group where she managed the company’s ethics and sustainability initiatives. She has over eight years’ experience in the multilateral agencies, the UN and World Bank, the latter where she managed the regional gender portfolio. Her work in women’s rights continued in her role with the International Women’s Development Agency in 2014, working in the area of women’s civil and political participation. Aleta’s knowledge of business and human rights was recognised through her selection to the Government’s Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group on the Implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Alice McShane

Program Manager

Alice McShane is a passionate advocate for the power of film and storytelling to effect change in the world. Her story with HRAFF began in 2015 when she joined the team as a marketing coordinator while studying her Masters in Arts and Cultural Management. In 2016 and 2017, she served as a features programmer and balanced that with her work in film festivals at Palace Cinemas. There, from 2015-2018 she worked in a curatorial, events management, marketing and programming capacity across eight festivals a year. She’s spent over ten years volunteering and working in media and the arts in Melbourne, and is proud to bring that experience to HRAFF, where she can champion human rights film-making and bring to light vital and under-seen stories.

jacob Taylor

Operations & Events Coordinator

Jacob's pathway to HRAFF has been one that has included almost a decade in hospitality, events management, and even a brief period as a beer salesman. He has  worked on some of Melbourne's largest events (MFWF, Spring Carnival, F1 Grand Prix) before finding his home in the not-for-profit sphere. When he's not immersed in the day-to-day events and operations of HRAFF, he can be found working at The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art or managing his own cocktail bitters company, Mister Bitters.

Georgia Rowles

Publicity & Social Media Coordinator

Having graduated with a bachelor of arts, Georgia has always sensed a responsibility to advocate for Human Rights. Splitting her time between HRAFF and climate change advocacy, she is passionate about helping achieve universal rights for all beings, including the environment. As the Marketing and Development Coordinator, Georgia is responsible for getting the word out about the festival, as well as executing fundraising strategies to ensure it goes ahead. 

Trevor Shard

Finance Manager

Trevor Shard has extensive experience in finance, corporate governance and communications, holds a Bachelor of Economics with post graduate qualification in applied finance, membership of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has been admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries. Trevor has previously held roles as Chief Financial Officer, Investor and Community Relations, Business Analyst and Financial Director of listed, unlisted, and private companies. Trevor was appointed Finance Manager of HRAFF in 2017.
