"HRAFF was the perfect festival to launch 'Chasing Asylum' in Australia. We had full houses and incredible audiences. It was an honour to open the festival in my hometown Melbourne and then have the opportunity to tour the country with the festival."
- Eva Orner, Director & Producer
Orner's Chasing Asylum had its Australian premiere at HRAFF 2016
I first started working in Melbourne's arts/film sector as an intern at HRAFF. The organisation has not only taught me skills that I would need as a young professional but also influenced the way I look at relevant, passionate work that is being done in the Human Rights, arts and film space. My experience here has definitely given me the confidence to pursue other opportunities in this industry.
My time at HRAFF was an absolute joy and the best possible career move I could have down at that stage in my life. I learnt a lot, I was able to work autonomously but also have accessible guidance and mentoring at the same time. During my time there I felt I was supported, had an impact, took skills I still use today, was rewarded and amazing networks. I also met some amazing friends there.
